Today is going to be about a blog that I’ve been really pondering about for awhile. Why is it important for me to focus on writing. And for me, I genuinely love the writing process now, and being able to change how I feel, just by the process of writing things down, it’s an important concept for me. And I focus on so many things, at least in the realm of books, is because I love being able to dissect based on what I take in. And for me, writing is the best medium, for me to dissect information, so I know what I should be focusing on. I used to watch so many different things, but I would never consciously think about it too much afterwards.

But writing, has allowed me to focus on things that I care about. Writing has allowed me to think about and communicate things that I would in the past would think was impossible. And writing has allowed me to dissect things, that otherwise I would just browse through, thinking it is not important. I think everything that we have in our memory, is pretty important. And we can do a lot of things, and we have preconceived notions that we can and cannot do certain things, and say certain things, and cannot say certain things, there’s so many restrictions that we have placed in our minds, it’s incredible when you reflect upon it it.

And for me, I can only think this way, because I have taken a lot of information in. I know people think in so many different ways, but at the end of the day, we decide what is important to us, and we decide what we want to focus on, and that requires taking in topics that we care about, each day. Though just taking in information isn’t worth it, if we cannot control, and understand ourselves throughout the process. Taking in should also be done at a modest focus. It shouldn’t be done in a way, where you are just taking information, without letting your mind wonder, and letting the most important things that you care about, actually regurgitate in your mind.

Life has many facets, and you don’t actually need to take in vast amount of knowledge, as long as what you take in, it actually sticks in your head. The amount of information that is around us, it’s incredible. But in a way, this kind of information has always been around, one way or another. We think internet provides us, at least I do, so many little things, that in the past would be impossible to decipher. But just because information is available, doesn’t mean we are actually taking it in. It’s our responsibility, as individuals, and as a community, to care about what we take in. It’s easy to get bogged down, in deciding what information we should take in. But at the end of the day, we do have a conscious control over what we take in, as long as, in the environment that we live in, we have some sort of autonomy.

And having too many options, does actually hurt us. And we should take in information, but we should do it, in a meaningful way, where we actually care about what we are taking in. Taking conscious action, and slowly adapting to what we think about, as we slowly move forward. Everyday is different, and what we vibe with at a certain point of today, we may not particularly vibe with, at the same time tomorrow. So having a number of options, it’s not bad at all. But having too many options, that’s actually super bad as well.

For me, the way I read non-fiction books, I have 3 categories that I use on audible playlist, that really has been helping me. I have 5 books on the fast speed reading playlist, books that I have read, and I actually enjoyed it, and I think I should finish it fast. And I have a slow playlist, with another layer of books, that I may have just started, and I am curious about them, but I’m not particularly super familiar with them, so I listen to these when I have some curiosity and focus. So these books are particularly for my morning routines, when I can really focus and also do things that I have to get done, and the routines that I do are mundane as well. And then the last playlist, I have the normal playlist, and these are actually the ones that I care about the least, because they’re too normal, not slow, not fast, but I don’t want to drop the books either. And these 15 books, I keep with me constantly, because I do need a limit as well. And by allowing myself to do this, I am able to take in a lot of information, without making myself feel overwhelmed. And of course, I don’t listen to all of this in one go, I listen, at a moderate pace, 20-40 minutes at a time, so I can understand the whole process, without getting overwhelmed.
