[[ChatGPT- David Goggins and His Energy]]

Man, [[David Goggins]] really is a beast. After reading both of his books, [[Never Finished]] and [[Can’t Hurt Me]], I see him as a person who has insane amounts of discipline. Therefore, his sheer raw determination is really something that deserves a huge amount of respect. And I also appreciate all the raw emotion he is able to express, and that happens because he is able to run ultramarathons, which are over 100 miles, and when you are able to do that, you are not overthinking life afterwards, and you meet your energy head on. That kind of pressure forces you to accept the strength you have inside, and that is genuinely such an incredible rewarding phenomenon, and it happens when you test your body to the fullest.

And man, how our energy works, that is super incredible. Therefore, I really do want to learn more about it, since I keep coming back to it. A while ago, I read [[How the Earth Works]], by [[Michael Wysession]], and it was super cool to listen to. But to segue for this point, I want to talk about [[Michael Wysession]]’s other audiobook, [[The Science of Energy]], that I am really curious about right now. It maybe a different type of energy, but I genuinely am super curious about how we use energy to survive. Thus, I want to understand energy on every level- physical, emotional, and biological. How the body uses food as fuel, how we survive, I see that it all connects- that curiosity link is super awesome, and that keeps me wanting to research more, and as a result, my excitement towards how to live with more intense steady energy remains.

That’s why I picked up [[Mitochondria and the Future of Medicine]] by [[Lee Know]]. When considering energy, the [[Mitochondria]] is the powerhouse of our cells, and it’s a really cool topic that I really want to get more insight about as I’m super curious about this well. And if we can power-up our own mitochondria, we can genuinely live with better strength. And I think it is incredible when authors really follow through with their curiosity, and this is one of those books. And this is something that I myself am super curious about- so I wish to investigate and get more insight as well. This will keep learning momentum going, and it will allow me to connect dots across everything that I’m reading.

Similarly, even the book [[How Emotions Are Made]], by [[Lisa Feldman Berrett]], I think it is related to this energy conversation. A thought is a process, that arises, when we are exposed to different stimuli, and it can happen at all moments. She explains emotions as simulations our brain builds from memories, sensations, and predictions. Which is super awesome, and it makes a lot of cohesive sense to me. This perspective really gave me an insight, because now I see emotions as genuinely, not as a fixed thing, but that something that can be easily changed. They’re also processes, energy patterns shaping how we see the world in real time.

I’ve been flying through this book, just a like a few others this quarter. And I keep thinking about energy, running, and emotion- and I genuinely think mastering these components really will legitimately enhance our lives. They’re fundamental because, once we are able to master them, at a greater level, new ideas will inevitable bloom at a faster rate, which is something that I genuinely am aiming for myself. And the brain itself- once it gains more concepts, it builds stronger connections, clearer patterns, and growth naturally happens as result.

Growth really does happen in layers. Reading, writing, running- they’re all journeys. [[Kasley Killam]]’s [[The Art and Science of Connection]], also reminded me of this as well. Because social connection is also super important. After getting my dental bridge done—finally, after 12 years—I was feeling low, because every good thing has a negative aspect. And in this case, there is the initial pain, with the bridge, as my mouth is getting used to having a tooth, in this case, I had it missing for 12 years.. But because I have been able to talk through my pain and worries with my loved ones, while getting appropriate rest, and I myself understand the overall reason why I am doing this, I started feeling better, and it genuinely is not that bad. That is energy transfer in real life, where we bring in the energy of another person, to change our own emotions, it’s also incredible. So physical energy, emotional energy, and social energy- they all interact to make us individually cohesive, and as a result, makes us thrive as human beings.
