I genuinely love when I am able to really focus on a book, and I am mesmerized by what is happening in the book, within the current moment. This used to be a thing that I only witnessed in fiction books, books like [[The Way of Kings]], from the [[Stormlight Archive]], by [[Brandon Sanderson]], but nowadays I am also able to become mesmerized by nonfiction books, and that is such an amazing cool step for me, as I proceed through life. I am genuinely super happy nowadays, and it’s specifically true, when I am able to control my strength. And I genuinely appreciate being able to remember and enjoy these books so much.
Similar to what I wrote yesterday, which may not even appear in the site, but yesterday, I pretty much was head over heal mesmerized by the book [[How Emotions Are Made]], by [[Lisa Feldman Berrett]], and I genuinely loved the book so much. And I also listened to this book today as well, and I am mesmerized by how some of the things that she is talking about are just making so much sense. I never considered myself a scientist, but the reality of the situation, and because [[Lisa Berrett]] also explained in a similar fashion, the brain really is a scientist, in how it deduces and decides what to keep in, and what to keep out.
The brain is an organ that really learns from data, and the more data, and concepts it makes, the stronger it can deduce what is correct. It’s like a self-learning machine, when it has enough concepts, it promotes new patterns of recognition, and that’s such an amazing thing to grasp. I am genuinely in love with this book right now, and I feel like I am getting so much insight, and part of the reason is also because, I also had a very good day. Emotions really are super contagious, and one thing really does lead to another thing, similar to what [[Robert Sapolsky]] said, in [[Determined]], because we genuinely do have good moments, and we have them, because we are able to surround ourselves with cool people.
I do believe we have more control in how we feel, then we give ourselves credit for. And I genuinely believe, with enough diligence, we have a lot more control over how we act, if we try hard enough. And the compounding effect of doing little things everyday, that we appreciate, it can have exponential growth. And I genuinely find that to be such an amazing phenomenon. And I appreciate how we can do so many cool things, but sometimes everything has to just click, and we don’t always know when that is going to happen. And I genuinely appreciate it so much, that I am able to do this, when things do actually click. And it’s incredible, what is possible, when we just do certain things, and try to figure out what works, and what doesn’t work.
And this is how life works, one thing does lead to another thing. And it’s not only this book that I am mesmerized by, besides [[How Emotions Are Made]], I am also currently mesmerized by the book, [[Storyworthy]], by [[Matthew Dicks]], and I genuinely think this author is such a cool dude. Because I also relate to him a lot. Especially about the topic of writing consistently for 15 minutes every single day, which I’ve been doing for the past 3.5 years. And it’s incredible what strength this can bring, and it’s not only me who obviously just does it. There are so many people in the world, and of course, so many different people discover the same thing, but in different ways.
And this genuinely is the power of stories. Just being able to relay something, in a manner that you appreciate, it’s such an amazing phenomenon. And yes, this blog is for my site as well, and I really want to convey how incredible stream of consciousness writing can be. And it’s such a powerful tool, to get the right thoughts out. And with practice, this genuinely is one of the coolest tools ever. And it’s true, the people who teach writing, they probably don’t write books, because the writers who actually write for a living, they never know what is going to appear in the page, they have a rough idea, and then they slowly flesh it out, with cues, and the right words, in front to help with the writing.
I have learned this super well, because of obsidian. And the way I can organize, it genuinely is such an amazing tool. Just being able to write from a few words, something, one of my friend told me once, back in Japan, [[Jacob Russo]], and it really is incredible, being able to talk from a set of few words, and then being able to relay what you know. You really don’t need to know a lot of things, because we already have so many things in our head, and we just need the important cue words, and we need to have faith in ourselves, and we just have to write, and believe in ourselves, and our brain as well. Because our brain genuinely is such a cool tool that understands the world. And yes, it’s an organ, and it’s one of the coolest organ, that deduces how reality is appearing in front of us.
And the brain really does simulate well, and most things that we take into consciousness, it really is a simulation. Because what we believe to be true, is only what we take in, based on our understanding of life, and our history, and what we know, and what we see, in the current moment. And everybody is different, and it’s incredible how powerful the brain is, and how it can decode information so fast, and most of the time, it’s just using what it knows, and half the time, it’s not what is in front of us, that is actually making us think the way we are thinking, we are also referencing and decoding, based on everything that we know from the past. And that is such an incredible feat, and I genuinely love that with all my heart, the power of the conscious and the unconscious brain, working together.
