Something that I have realized recently, and this is very old news, but we only get things done when we decide what is truly important. As human beings, we cannot focus on everything, that is of paramount importance to understand. If our basic needs are not met, we cannot dilly-dally on things that don’t actually produce anything of value for us. We can imagine million different scenarios, but at the end of the day, we have to stick with what is working for us. Thus, for me, this week, I want to talk about some books that I have been starting and finishing up, that have been really resonating with me.
The first book I will mention, it is the book [[Online Business Startup]], by [[Robin Waite]], which I actually just ended up finishing earlier this week. And it goes with a lot of the stuff that I am really focusing on, which is, how do I become more independent, so I don’t have to rely on outside institutions to give me what I really want in life. Thus, for me, being in this online medium, it’s for me, a way to get myself out there, at the same time, understand that, this is a system, where I am getting myself in the public space, where my thoughts have more power, because I’m sharing the thoughts that I think are super important. Thus, finishing this book up, and I started it right after leaving Greaves Corporation.
It’s a really cool book, in it, there are certain things that I really care about, and if I am able to implement some of the strategies, I think I can get far in life. Although, [[Robin Waite]] has been doing online businesses for awhile, I didn’t always fully relate to what he said. But, for me, I think it’s important to take his perspective, and I think creating my own brand, with MrMoeRohan, is going to be important, if I want to actually have a chance at doing something on my own, that I genuinely respect. This site does give me a lot of joy, because I genuinely love knowing and reading from these individuals, and they share knowledge that I really want to learn. Although I cannot always commit adequate time to dissect it, I am grateful that I am able to share their names on my site.
Similarly, [[The Art of Gathering]], by [[Priya Parker]], it’s another book that I really cherish. I genuinely think we as people evolve when we feel that we are part of a community. Moreover, that really happens when we actually have a good meeting with someone, at a gathering. A gathering can be any occasion, but the fact that [[Priya Parker]] wrote a whole book about it, it really does give me joy. It’s a topic, if it was in one seating, I would not be able to finish. But because, I listened to it slowly, over the span of 8 months, it has given me a lot of insight, that I would not otherwise attain. Thus, for me, reading this book, and getting the knowledge to know how to actually gather appropriately, it really does lighten my heart.
Moreover, reading books like this, it really does help me become aware. Because, I have a lot of desire to learn, but it’s not an easy process for me. My mind always wonders, and I want to learn so many things, but, at the end of the day, we cannot learn everything, if it’s not directly correlated with what we’re doing in life. Thus, although I am learning about so many things right now, including how to advance AI, with classes like AI in Architecture, I can only talk about things that I really have an understanding of. And for me, books like the [[The Art of Gathering]], because I have a wholistic understanding of psychology, I care about it more. It really sparks my curiosity. Once I feel like I have enough knowledge, it becomes easier for me to share.
The last book that I want to talk about is [[The Creativity Code]], by [[Marcus Du Sautoy]]. I started this book, because it was one of the recommendations for the [[AI in Architecture]] course that I was talking about. Though, I think this relates a little bit more to what I can actually contribute, in the realm of how our human mind works. Thus, for me, reading this book, and becoming aware of the evolution of some of the AI machinery that has evolved over time, it has been enlightening. I can’t say everything, but I do know, [[Marcus Du Sautoy]], he was able to dissect how AI agents are gaining their agency. It’s a step by step process, and the more training data you give an algorithm, the stronger it becomes. It’s a really interesting exploration for me.
Thus, for me, I cannot learn all the 3D programs, if I’m not directly involved with the work process. But I can intellectually talk about how AI is evolving, to help us, if we use it deliberately to advance what we want to do. At the end of the day, I genuinely think AI algorithms are amazing tools, LLM, which are Large language Models, are here to stay, same as how the iPhone and the Internet has been with us constantly for the last 20-40 years. This is the next evolution point in how technology will evolve. And I believe it’s all about utilizing what we’ve got, because the power of algorithms, of LLM’s, are far superior than what we can do. So we have to use it, or else we just fall behind. The people who use it more appropriately, will get so much further in life, I believe.
